Harry Eugene Reep Sr., 81, passed away at his residence in Statesville on Monday, August 28, 2017. Harry was born May 4, 1936, in Iredell County, to the late Sydney and Bertie Reep.
Harry was a pillar of strength and a smiling face to all who knew him. He owned and operated his own business, “Reep’s Water Service,” from 1971 until retirement. He was a loving husband, daddy, papaw and pappy. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Curtis, and seven brothers: JR, George, Glenn, Blake, Hassill, Earl, and Joe.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Matoka Hurst Reep; his three children: Cindy Holloway (James), Donna Loudermilt (Wesley) and Junior Reep; three grandchildren: Delayne Whitaker (Andrew), Matthew Dowell and Tiffany Layne (Preston); two great-grandchildren, Savannah and Rylee Whitaker; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Reep and Margaret Reep; along with many nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, August 31 from 6:30pm – 8:00pm at his residence, 155 Peaceful Lane, Statesville. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to a charity of your choice.
