Rachel "Ruby" (Bell) Lowthorp

Rachel “Ruby” Nell Bell Lowthorp, 91, of Statesville, passed away peacefully at home on January 27, 2021. She was born August 18, 1929 to the late Ernest Bell and Ida Meadows Bell. She is also preceded by her beloved husband Mack Ray Lowthorp of 55 years. Ruby is also preceded by her sisters, Josey Ward, Willia Taylor, Wilma Fraley, brothers, Edgar, Wade, Paul, Clarence Bell, and Daughter, Lorrie Lowthorp Brown. Ruby also lived to see 5 generations of great great grandchildren who she loved.

   Ruby attended Harmony High School and Temple Baptist Church. She worked at Cool Springs School in the Cafeteria before retiring after over 20 years of employment.

   Those left to cherish and honor her memory include her son, Terry Lowthorp Sr., daughter, Sharon Lowthorp Mills, grandchildren, Terry Lowthorp Jr. (Rhonda), Cynthia Lowthorp Wolfe, Treva Lowthorp, Jamie Spears (Kourtney), Robin McElveen (Brian), great grandchildren, Rebecca Pope (Samuel), Terry Lowthorp III, Thomas Lowthorp, Olivia Swaim, Chevy Mack, Austin Ireland (Waylon), Travis Carson, and numerous great great grandchildren.

   The family will hold a graveside service starting at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Iredell Memorial Gardens. Terry Tevepaugh will be officiating.
