Jimmy "J.R." Ray McDaniel

   Jimmy “J.R.” Ray McDaniel, age 68, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on May 6, 2022, at his home in Iredell County.

   J.R., as he was so lovingly known as, was born on July 2, 1953, in Moncks Corner, SC.  He was the son of the late Samuel Roland McDaniel and Rosa Christine (Ikner) McDaniel.  In addition to his parents, J.R. was preceded in death by his brother Alton McDaniel.

   In life, J.R. attended school in Iredell County.  He later chose a career in Commercial Landscaping where he worked for many years until he retired.

   J.R. is survived by, a son, Jimmy McDaniel (Michele) of Statesville, two daughters, Tina Cheng of Boston, MA and Kristi McDaniel of Statesville, also, a brother, Ronald McDaniel of Statesville, one sister, Joyce Lamberth (Steve) of Statesville, five grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

   A visitation for J.R. will be held on Tuesday, May 10, from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm at Reavis Funeral Home of Statesville.
