James Robert Blansett, Sr., age 77 of Statesville, North Carolina entered his heavenly home on April 19, 2023.
James was born on October 26, 1945, in Clintwood, Virginia. He was the son of the late Hiram Jones and Frances (Blansett) Russell.
In life, James attended Virginia schools. Later, he chose a career in construction where he worked as a carpenter. James worked for 52 years and retired in 1994. In 1968, James married his loving wife Shelvie Jean (England) Blansett in Taylorsville, North Carolina. Together they had two sons. Among the many things that James enjoyed in life was his family and cock fighting.
James leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 55 years Shelvie Blansett of Statesville, two sons James Robert Blansett, Jr. of Statesville and Bryan Blansett of Statesville, five grandchildren; Cody Jordan, Justin Blansett, Victoria Blansett, Laci Blansett, and Cheyanne Blansett, and five great grandchildren; Austin Jordan, Autumn Jordan, Natalie Jordan, Logan McDade, and Danika Poole.
On Saturday, April 29, a memorial service for James will be held at Victory Baptist Church and begin at 2:00 pm.
