Tyler Jose Perrusquia

Our beloved Tyler Jose Perrusquia, 22, of Statesville passed away on Friday, May 31, 2019 after a long battle with mental illness. He was born April 2, 1997 in Statesville, the son of Angela Dishman of Statesville and Marcos Perrusquia of Mexico. He was of the Jehovah’s Witness faith.

In life, Tyler loved boxing, working out and walking. He loved reading books and he was always cooking. He loved his volunteer work with his grandmother. He loved his dog Bella. He loved his family very much and loved all of his friends dearly.

He was preceded in death by a great-grandfather Robert Russell Sr. and a great-grandmother Bettie Russell, his great-grandfather Spud Dishman and great-grandmother Madeline Dishman and two uncles, Jamie and Bryan Dishman.

He is survived by a large and loving family, including his brothers Michael and Brandon Perrusquia, his loving nanny, his grandfather Gary Dishman and grandmother Laurie, his aunt Tammy Cottle and uncle Chris Dishman, his cousins Carlie Abernethy, Zachary Dishman, Hunter and Piper Cottle, Isaias, Alex and Kevin Perrusquia, his special great uncle Robert Russell Jr., his great aunt Kelly Russell and great cousin Nicholas Davis, great uncle Rick Dishman (Pam), great cousin Ritchie Dishman and great aunt Sandy.

Tyler will be dearly missed and held tight in all of our hearts. He was a special, wonderful, loving boy to all of us. The family encourages friends to make donations in Tyler’s memory to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) www.nami.org/.

A memorial service in his honor will be held on Thursday, June 6 at 2:00 PM at New Hope Baptist Church in Statesville with Reverend Keith Mason officiating.  Reavis Funeral Home is honored to serve the family. Online condolences may be left at www.reavisfhstatesville.com.
