Margaret (Freeland) Gover

Margaret Freeland Gover, 57, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at Iredell Memorial Hospital. A native of Iredell County, she was born in Harmony on August 4, 1961, the daughter of the late Carl Thomas Freeland and Lottie Mae Upright Freeland. She was the widow of the late James Clay Gover who died June 9, 2017. She was also preceded in death by a son, Grady Thomas Drum, a brother Jim Freeland, and three infant sisters.

Margaret attended Iredell County Schools and had worked in various jobs; however, due to health problems, she was primarily a homemaker.

Surviving are her daughters, Melinda Wyatt (Gaylen), Karla and Autum Freeland, all of Cleveland; one brother, Thomas Freeland of Statesville; two sisters, Barbara F. Kiser (Boady) and Renee Harrold, both of Statesville; three grandchildren: Krisalin Drum, Andrew Drum and Makayla Hill; one great grandchild, Aubree; plus a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:30 Thursday (December 6) at Reavis Funeral Home, 318 Davie Avenue, Statesville. The Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at the funeral home at 2:00 PM Friday (December 7) with Pastor Steve Perry and Rev. Barbara Bunton officiating. Interment will follow in the Triplett United Methodist Church Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband. The family will also receive friends after the service at the home of Margaret's sister, Barbara Kiser.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to help offset final expenses are requested to be sent to Reavis Funeral Home, 318 Davie Avenue, PO Box 1201, Statesville, NC 28687.

Serving as Pallbearers are Markus Ramsey, Shawn Ramsey, Shane Kiser, Trevor Carver, Christian Carver, Jeremiah Freeland and Spencer Price.
