Julian Vernard Brown, 63, died unexpectedly at his home Thursday, March 2, 2017. He was born in Iredell County on May 28, 1953, the son of the late Nathaniel J. Brown and the late Ruth Davidson Brown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Dustin Vernard Brown.
Julian was a 1971 graduate of South Iredell High School. For some 25 or more years, he was owner/operator of JVs Barbeque on Hwy. 70 east of Statesville. One of his hobbies was gardening and growing things.
He leaves behind one son, Julian Antoine Brown, of Statesville; the mother of his children, Cynthia Nesbitt Clark, of Statesville; a brother, Nathaniel J. Brown, Jr. (Kay) of Huntersville; two sisters, Patsy Brown Tabor (Dewayne) and Martha Caldwell, both of Statesville; an uncle, Clyde Davidson, Jr.; four aunts: Ruby Davidson Woods, Emma B. Houston, Mildred Young, and Manda Brown; three grandchildren: Torie A. Brown, Julia A. Brown and Jordan E. Brown; and a very special friend, Charlette Harrell.
As requested by the decedent, a PRIVATE FAMILY MEMORIAL SERVICE will be conducted. Bishop Randy Minor will officiate and Rev. Donald Brown will speak. His cremains will be scattered upon the homeland that he loved.
