John Clarence Wooten, 91, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2019, at his residence.
John was born May 2, 1927 the son of the late John James and Bertha Reynolds Wooten. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Martha “Allene” Wooten of 69 years, and one son Dwight Wooten.
Mr. Wooten was a lifelong resident of Iredell County, NC. He enjoyed fishing and puzzles, John was a member of Monticello United Methodist Church.
He is survived by one son, John M. Wooten of Mt. Pleasant, NC; two daughters, Rena Horne (Roy), of Florida, and Kathy Seagle of Statesville, NC; eleven grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
The visitation and viewing will be from 6-7:00 PM Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Monticello United Methodist Church. The Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at the church at 7:00 PM Tuesday February 26, 2019 with Rev. Amy Spivey officiating. Interment will be Wednesday February 27, 2019 at 11:00am at Oakwood cemetery where he will be laid to rest by his wife.
