Janice Bruce Harmon, 58, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, June 12, 2018, following a brief illness. Born in Iredell County on December 30, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Bruce and Rosie Mae Lambert Bruce. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Emory Bruce Harmon, who died August 26, 2017.
Her memory will be cherished by her two daughters, Kristina Kunkle (Jeffrey) of Dallas, NC, and Pamela Wurtz (Joseph) of Bremerton, WA; her beloved sister who helped care for her in recent weeks, Lori Whiteside (Cecil) of Statesville; three brothers, David Bruce of Hickory and Roger and Danny Bruce, both of Statesville; two precious grandchildren, Kaitlyn Kunkle and Zachary Wurtz; plus numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Mrs. Harmon’s career was that of a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of Triplett United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing bingo and rummy, but her greatest delight was in being a grandmother.
The Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 16, at Triplett UMC with Rev. Dr. Rick Auten officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the church cemetery.
