Ethel Lee (Osborne) Wyatt, 73, passed away at her home under Hospice care Monday, April 2, 2018, following a year-long battle with cancer. She was born in Buchanan County, VA, on September 24, 1944, the daughter of the late Roy Lee Osborne and Sarah Mandelin Blackburn Osborne. She was the widow of William Drannan Wyatt who died February 2, 1980.
Mrs. Wyatt had been a resident of Iredell County for the past 32 years. In addition to being a homemaker for her family, she had served as an aide with home health services. She enjoyed yard sales, picking up pecans (which she usually gave away), cooking and, most of all, spending time with her family.
Those remaining to cherish her memory include three sons, William Charlie Wyatt of Statesville, Leslie Allen Wyatt (Darla) of Cleveland, and Mark Clifford Wyatt (Letha) of Bluefield, VA; two daughters, Sarah Diannia Shepherd (Mike) of Granite Falls and Bessis Marie McPherson of Statesville; two brothers, Clayton Allen Osborne of Buchanan County, VA, and Michael Darrell Osborne of Jewell Ridge, VA; one sister, Carol Sue Justus of Jewell Ridge, VA; plus 17 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings Betty Lou, Jerry Glenn, Mary Elizabeth, Curtis Alfred and “Big June”.
Visitation with family and viewing will be from 6:00 until 7:30 Thursday, April 5, at Reavis Funeral Home of Statesville (318 Davie Avenue). The service will follow at 7:30 conducted by Hospice Chaplain David Kent.
In accordance with her wishes, Mrs. Wyatt will be cremated after the service and her cremains will be scattered in the beautiful mountains which she loved.
