Mrs. Emma Rudd Hiott, age 95, passed away peacefully August 21, 2019 due to natural causes. Emma was born September 27, 1923 in Casswell County to Mallie Cleveland (King) and Felix Rudd. She married the love of her life, Millard Tate Hiott, after a short courtship, on September 9, 1946. Millard preceded her in death in 1978 after 32 years of loving marriage. Emma never remarried and her beloved “Ikie” remained close to her heart through her final moments.
Emma was a woman of great strength, courage and wisdom. Born in the roaring 20’s during the Jazz Age, living through WWII and the Great Depression, Emma has seen many of history’s iconic moments. Over the years, she has shared many stories of these historic times with her beloved family. These stories will forever live on through those she has left behind.
She is survived by her four children, eleven grand-children, twelve great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Emma had an extreme love for her family. Throughout the five generations of Emma’s family, she has brought smiles and happiness to them all. Emma will truly be missed greatly by those who knew and loved her.
A private graveside ceremony will be held at Oakwood Cemetery on Monday, August 26 at 11:00 AM. Reavis Funeral Home has been entrusted with her care and is honored to serve the family.
