Anne Edmiston

Anne Edmiston, age 75 of Statesville, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, January 26, 2019. She was born November 3, 1943 in Mooresville. Ms. Edmiston was preceded in death by her father and mother, James Allen Edmiston, Sr. and Allie Gray “Gaye” Douglass Edmiston.

Ms. Edmiston was a 1962 graduate of Troutman High School and attended Appalachian State Teacher’s College and Montreat-Anderson College. She taught at Wayside Elementary School, followed by a 30-year career with Eckerd Drug. Ms. Edmiston was an accomplished seamstress, having made her first dress at four-years-old.

Ms. Edmiston is survived by her brother, James Allen “Jim” Edmiston, Jr. (Mary Anne Wilson), and two sisters, Mary Edmiston Tolbert (Carl) and Ethel Edmiston Mercer (Ron); her nephews and niece, Troy Douglas “Doug” Edmiston (Dede), Carl Preston Tolbert, Jr. (Sara), and Catherine Edmiston Tolbert Davis (Cody); her grand-nephews and nieces, Blake and Noelle Bowles, Jimmy, Janie and Charlie Edmiston, and Allie Gray and Rowland Davis. She was also preceded in death by her beloved niece, Laura Edmiston Bowles.

Ms. Edmiston is also survived by her dear friends, Betty Plyler Cooper, Craig Martin, and Edith Rummage.

The family will receive friends Friday, February 1, 2019 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM in the sanctuary of Troutman First United Methodist Church, 204 Mills Avenue, Troutman. A memorial service will be held immediately following the visitation at 2:00 PM in the sanctuary.

The family would like to thank the Iredell County EMS post on Murdock Road in Troutman for their exceptional care and kind service to Anne in recent years.
