Phillip Raye Pettit, 66, of Statesville, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017, at Iredell Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He was born September 13, 1950, the son of Colala Reavis Pettit of Statesville and the late Floyd H. Pettit, Sr.
Phillip graduated from Central High School in Statesville. He had worked in manufacturing and also worked at Pizza Hut and Dominos. He was of the Baptist faith. His favorite pastime was working on computers. He was very knowledgeable and could assemble, disassemble, replace parts and do all sorts of things with computers.
In addition to his mother, Colala, who is a resident of Rosewood Assisted Living Center in Harmony, he is survived by two brothers, Floyd H. Pettit, Jr. and wife, Amy, of Statesville and Steven Gray Pettit of Statesville, a niece, Charlotte Pettit, and three nephews: Justin, Aaron and Clinton Pettit.
Services will be conducted at 5:00 PM Wednesday, January 25, at Reavis Funeral Home of Statesville, officiated by Rev. Frank Blankenship. The family will receive friends after the service at the funeral home.
