Katherine Mae Souther Meadows, 93, of Turnersburg Highway entered the gates of heaven on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, and was greeted by her Savior, Jesus Christ. She would have celebrated her 94th birthday on Friday, July 28, born in 1923. She was preceded in death by her mother, Susie Mae Clodfelter Souther; her father, Oom Paul Souther; the love of her life, her husband, Charles Locke Meadows; her beloved grandson, Brian Todd Jones; her brother, Carl Gray Souther; sister-in-law, Evelyn Souther; and a multitude of cousins and friends who she loved dearly and cherished the memories with each and everyone of them.
Left to remember her and the many memories they shared are her daughter, Cheryl Meadows Jones of Statesville; her son, Charles Danny Meadows (Tammy) of State Road, NC; and her daughter, Kathy Meadows Stutts (Randy) of Statesville. She is survived by three granddaughters: Angie Bustle (Eric), Maleia Beck (Eric) and Hannah Stutts; one grandson, Robbie Meadows (Sarah) and three great granddaughters: Graycie Bustle, Amiya Stutts and Lexie Beck. Katherine mourned the death of her oldest grandson, Brian Todd Jones, who died on March 13, 2017. She is survived by two brothers, Commie Lewis Souther (Lynn) of Statesville and Bennie Ray Souther of Burlington and a special friend, Linda Thompson.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 27, at Reavis Funeral Home of Statesville from 6:00-8:00 PM. Mrs. Meadows’ birthday is Friday, July 28, and the family felt it appropriate to celebrate her life with funeral services at Fairview Baptist Church (Turnersburg Hwy., Statesville) at 11:00AM. Dr. Scott Eanes and Pastor Otis Johnson will conduct the funeral services with her final resting place to be at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to thank you for your thoughts and prayers. A special thanks for the many kindnesses extended by Cecil Prevette, Judy Callaway, Dr. Joshi and Hospice nurses, Texie Blackburn and Cassie Fielden and other special friends who have supported the family throughout her life.
