Henry Wayne Dalton

Henry Wayne Dalton, 75, died Thursday, June 23, 2016, at Iredell Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Floyd County, Virginia, but had lived in the Statesville area for more than 35 years. He was a self-employed logger, but was also skilled in many other trades. He enjoyed hunting and getting out with his dogs.

Survivors are his wife of almost 43 years, Dorothy Absher Dalton; two sons, Anthony Wayne Altizer of Fieldale, VA, and Henry Paul Dalton (Michelle) of Statesville; four daughters: Tracy Dawn Newman of Statesville, Yvonne Renea Dalton of Winston-Salem, Rita Leona Williams (Alan) of Cleveland, NC, and Linda Marie Dalton of Statesville; three brothers: Elwood, Harley and Curtis Dalton of Statesville; two sisters, Margie Huguel of Jacksonville, FL, and Molly Quesenberry of Statesville; plus 21 grandchildren and 18 ½ great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett Luther Dalton and Nelva A. Mitchell Dalton, two brothers, Stan and Sammy, and one sister, Polly.

The family will receive friends Friday, June 24, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at New Bethany Baptist Church (106 Eufola Road, Statesville). A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday at the church officiated by and Rev. Bill Mason. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
