Dwight Wayne Davidson

Dwight Wayne Davidson, 64, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017, at his home on Blackwelder Road. He fought a courageous battle with cancer but death was unexpected.

The son of the late Robert “Happy” and Evelyn White Davidson, he was born in Iredell County on July 1, 1953. He worked as a carpenter his entire life until his health declined. He was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church in Statesville. He loved to fish, even making his own dough. And he also loved country music and enjoyed NASCAR racing.

Left to cherish his memory is a brother, Robert “Bobby” Davidson and wife, Susan, and two sisters, Carolyn Lambert and husband, Tom, and Deraine Millsaps and husband, Arnold, all of Statesville. Also surviving are nephews Jonathan Lambert and James Davidson, and nieces Emily (David) of Harmony, Julie Thomas (Jeff) of Oak Ridge, NC, and Nikki Price (Brian) of Summerfield, NC; great nieces Sarabeth Thomas, Ava Price and Karlee Lambert; a great nephew Kalab Lambert; one aunt, Alma W. Hall, and a number of cousins. He was preceded in death by a niece, Elizabeth Davidson.

The family will meet at the home of Carolyn and Tom Lambert on Jennings Road. The visitation will be from 2:00 until 2:50 PM Tuesday, July 11, at Bethany Presbyterian Church. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3:00 PM in the church with Rev. Frank Stewart officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
