Brian Hubbard

Herbert “Brian” Hubbard, 45, passed away at his home Monday, September 26, 2016. Brian was born in Orville, California, on December 10, 1970, the son of Ethel Himes Hubbard and the late Herbert Roscoe Hubbard who died August 12, 2016.

In addition to his mother, Ethel, of Statesville, he is survived by his wife of more than 26 years, Wendy Lynn Huffstetler Hubbard; three daughters: Jennifer Hubbard of the home, Nicole Hubbard of National City, CA, and Sara Hubbard of Gastonia, NC; thirteen siblings: Nancy Howe, Juanita Shelton Kuykendall, Patricia Shelton Jones, George Shelton, Becky H. Davis, Barbara H. Woods, Susie H. Epperson, Debbie H. Lewis, Barry Hubbard, Larry Hubbard, Roger Hubbard, Dennis Hubbard and Wendy H. Robinson; plus a number of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins. He was also preceded in death by three sisters: Loretta Shelton, Linda Shelton Polk and Patricia Hubbard, and one brother, Danny Hubbard.

Brian was a terrific husband and father. He loved fishing and especially deer hunting, and often took his family with him on these excursions. He learned the art of taxidermy and was also skilled in repairing all types of engines. Like his father, he was a truck driver, driving for JLJ Trucking for several years. More recently, he was a supervisor with Kewaunee Scientific Corporation of Statesville prior to becoming disabled. He was loved and will be missed by many.
