Betty Margaret (McClure) Rahn

Betty McClure Rahn, 90, a former resident of Statesville, passed away at Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, NC, Tuesday, April 18, 2017. Born June 11, 1926, in Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late H.V. and Margie Burch McClure and the widow of Wilbur E. Rahn who died in 1993. She was also preceded in death by a brother, C.L. McClure, and a sister, Annie Bell Wells.

Mrs. Rahn retired from Ecusta Paper Corporation in Pisgah Forest after 30 years of dedicated service. As long as her health permitted, she was an active member of the Jehovah’s Witness Congregation in Brevard.

Her memory will be cherished by her daughter, Millie Rahn Galloway and husband, Roger, of Brevard; a brother, Virgle McClure of Hendersonville; three sisters: Ruth Webb, Mildred Souther and Joan Allison, all of Hendersonville; a granddaughter, Jill Galloway Price; and one great granddaughter, Taylor Downing.

No services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be considered to Elizabeth House, 581 S. Allen Rd., Flat Rock, NC 28731 or to the Brevard congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 75 Batson Rd., Brevard, NC 28712
